From the end of May to the mid August the
historic outdoor drama takes place at the Mountainside Theatre in Cherokee at
night (except on Sundays). The play tells of the highest point of power of the
Cherokee tribe, the Trail of Tears and today. The initial version of the play
was launched in July 1950, making it one of the largest historical dramas
outdoors in the United States.
